WORLD HUMAN RIGHTS DAY REPORT – SISM Italy
Summary of all activities of the HRD celebration: Torino: A Human Window Genova: Movie “Terraferma” Catania: Right Therapy Brescia: The Right To Have Rights Roma Sant’ Andrea: The Right To Have Rights Chieti:Chinese Lanterns Novara: Is that all RIGHT? Palermo:University info desk and trivial game Parma:University and Library FlashMob Sassari: #worldhumanrightsday Verona: Posters in University Perugia: "the road to Guantanamo" I suppose that other Local Committees took part in the WHRD but not all are used to share their activities in the mailing list. As SISM we usually ask for a mid-term report in march, so I will be sure about the exact number of LCs by that time. Just to remind.. Modify your status on fb and twitter with the sentence you like and #worldhumanrightsday. Parma: Write down or draw something you like about HR on a long sheet, then this on the 10th December will be exposed at the university and then will stablily become part of the decorations of the local library. Palermo: University info desk with material given by Amnesty International Sicily and a sort of trivial game:who answers at five questions wins a bookmark with an article written on it. Torino: Torino SC created a contest in which students from all over Italy could present artistic works as video, pictures, poetries, reportages .. showing not respected/guaranteed/violated rights in our society. This contest finished with all the works exposition and of course the prizegiving. Genova: Genova organized a Cineforum to show the Italian/French movie about immigration called: “Terraferma”.

Catania: Catania organized a special dinner where students have explained the Articles to every participant, while the amount of the meal has been devolved to buy Christmas gifts for kids in the Pediatrics Division in Vittorio Emanuele Hospital and Policlinico Universitario (both in Catania) thanks to the collaboration of the guys of the Smile X Project. Brescia & Roma Sant’Andrea: These two cities have shared the same project. They created a 31-blue-balloons way in their university. Every balloon corresponded to a Right and it has a cinematographic/literary/ suggestion (or just a pic) tied on the string. The 31th corresponded to a missing right and there was a white sheet tied, where everyone could have written THE missing Right. Chieti: Distribution of leafelts about HRD during the morning.In the afternoon the SC will let 30 Chinese lanterns fly, writing on each of them one right. The legend about themsays that when the lanterns reach the paradise your expressed wishes will become true. Novara: Facebook Flashmob in which students from all over Italy have shared daily an article starting from the 11th of November with the 30th Article to the 10th of December with the 1st Article. Verona: Posters about HR in university. Perugia: collaboration with Amnesty and projection of "The road to Guantamo".
