Rund um den Großen Burgberg ist in Bad Harz-

burg viel zu erleben. Nicht versäumen sollten Sie

einen Spaziergang auf dem erst 2015 eröffneten

Baumwipfelpfad im Kalten Tal. Dort befi ndet sich

auch der neue Baumwurzelpfad. Mit der Burg-

berg-Seilbahn geht es auf den Berg, wo einst die

Harzburg von Heinrich IV. thronte. Spielt das Wet-

ter mit, ist von dort der 1.141 Meter hohe Brocken

bestens im Blick. Zahlreiche Themenwanderwege,

darunter als Premiumweg die Luchstour, laden zu

besonderen Wanderungen ein.

Around the Großer Burgberg (great castle hill) in Bad Harzburg is plenty to do. You should not miss a walk on the Tree Top Trail above the Kalten Tal (cold valley), which only opened in 2015. There you can also fi nd the Baumwurzelpfad (tree root path). The Burgberg-Seilbahn (cable car) will get you up the mountain, where once the castle Harz-burg of Heinrich IV. dedicated the landscape. If the weather is good, you can enjoy the view towards the 1.141 meter high mount Brocken. Numerous themed trails invite you to discover nature and our most popular lynx tour.

Naturerlebnis in luftiger Höhe

„Auf geht‘s! Rauf geht‘s!“ heißt der Slogan des

Baumwipfelpfades im Kalten Tal. In luftiger Höhe

von bis zu 22 Metern ist eine neue Sichtweise

nicht nur auf die hautnah zu spürenden Bäume

gegeben. Auf dem rund 1.000 Meter langen Pfad

mit seiner imposanten Einstiegskuppel gibt es 33

Erlebnisstationen zur Forstwirtschaft, Natur und

Umwelt zu entdecken. Einzigartig ist eine Geolo-

giestation, die die Gesteinsschichten des Harzes

erklärt. Weiter geht es entweder auf den Großen

Burgberg oder hinunter zum Baumwurzelpfad.

„Get ready to get to the top!”, this is the slogan of the Baumwipfelpfad (tree top trail) in the Kalten Tal (cold valley). At a dizzy height of up to 22 meters new perspectives are given not only to the close tree panorama. The 1.000 meter long path with its imposing dome entrance offers 33 interactive sta-tions to discover forestry, nature and facts about the environment. A unique feature is the geology station which explains the rock formation of the Harz. Continue this trail with a walk to the Großer Burgberg (great castle hill) or down to the Baum-wurzelpfad (tree root path).

Schweben, Staunen, Ausruhen

Seit 1929 hat die Burgberg-Seilbahn bereits mehr

als 25 Millionen Gäste auf den Großen Burgberg

transportiert. Dort, wo einst Kaiser und Könige

in 483 Metern Höhe residierten, sind auf einem

historischen Rundweg die Relikte und ein Modell

der einst imposanten Harzburg zu besichtigen.

Im „Aussichtsreich“ kann heute auf dem Bad

Harzburger Hausberg wieder gespeist und ge-

nächtigt werden. Raum zum Ausruhen, aber auch

zu Aktivitäten auf dem Mehrgenerationen-Spiel-

platz und im Kneipp-Becken bietet der Kurpark

am Fuße des Burgbergs.

Since 1929 the Burgberg-Seilbahn (cable car) has already transported more than 25 million visitors to the Großer Burgberg (great castle hill). Where kings and emperors once ruled 483 meters above sea level, you can follow a historic trail today, with relics and a model of the once imposing Harzburg castle. Enjoy food and drink as well as accommo-dation in the „Aussichtsreich“ on mount Bad Harz-burg. The Kurpark at the foot of Burgberg (castle hill) provides time to relax but also has activities in the multigenerational playground and Kneipp basin.

Durch die Stadt bummeln

Vom Kurpark bis zur Stadtmitte erstreckt sich die

Bummelallee. Eingerahmt von mächtigen Kastani-

en führt der Weg an zahlreichen Geschäften, Ca-

fés und Restaurants vorbei, die zum Shoppen und

Verweilen einladen. Mit den springenden Pferden

am Karl-Franke-Platz und den lustigen Gnomen

des Jungbrunnens am Platz Stadtmitte sind auch

ganz besondere Hingucker dabei. Ein Besuch des

Badeparks mit der historischen Wandelhalle und

dem Brunnenausschank vis-à-vis der Spielbank

sollte bei der Tour durch die Stadt nicht versäumt

werden.

From the Kurpark to the city centre leads a shop-ping pedestrian zone, called the “Bummelallee”. It is framed with majestic chestnut trees. Many shops, cafes and restaurants invite you to shop and linger. Also very special eye-catchers are the jumping horses at Karl-Franke-Platz and the funny gnomes of the “fountain of youth” on the city square. A visit to the Kurpark with the historic Wandelhalle and the water offering opposite the casino should not be missed during your city tour.

Aktiv sein kein Problem

In Bad Harzburg ist das Aktiv sein absolut kein

Problem. Das Spektrum ist breit gefächert.

Für Golfer bietet der Golf-Club Harz die Mög-

lichkeit, auf der landschaftlich außergewöhnlich

schön gelegenen 18-Löcher-Anlage ihrer Passion

nachzugehen. Mountainbiking, Nordic Walking,

Laufen vom Sportpark an der Rennbahn aus, aber

auch ausgiebige Wandertouren halten ebenfalls

fi t. Etwas für das Nervenkostüm ist der Besuch

des Hochseilparks im Kalten Tal. Im Kurpark steht

der Mehrgenerationen-Spielplatz für Fitnessübun-

gen bereit.

Bad Harzburg offers a great variety of activities. Golfers are welcome at the Golf Club Harz, where you can enjoy 18 holes set in an extraordinarily beautiful landscape. You can do mountain biking, nordic walking, running trails which start from the Sportpark at the horse racing track or one of the many scenic hikes that will keep you fi t. Get your adrenalin kick on the sky rope Bad Harzburg in the Kalten Tal (cold valley). In the Kurpark you can fi nd a multigenerational playground with great fi tness exercise possibilities.

Ein besonderes Ereignis

In Bad Harzburg fi ndet die 5. Jahreszeit immer

im Juli statt. Der Harzburger Rennverein veran-

staltet dann traditionell im Sportpark sein Ga-

loppmeeting. Die Rennpferde bestimmen gut eine

Woche den Pulsschlag der Stadt und der Region.

Spannung pur und echtes Wettfi eber sind über-

all zu spüren. Besondere Attraktionen der rund

50 Wettkämpfe sind die Seejagdrennen an den

beiden Sonntagen. Ein internationales Vielseitig-

keitsreitturnier, ein Dressur- und Springturnier

und das Shetland-Pony-Festival gehören eben-

falls zum jährlichen Pferdesportprogramm.

A special event

Bad Harzburg has its 5th season always in July. The Harzburger Rennverein (horse racing associ-ation) organizes the traditional horse race week. The race horses set the pulse of the city and the region for just over one week. Pure excitement and real betting fever can be felt everywhere. Spe-cial attractions of the approximately 50 competi-tions are the lake races on both Sundays. An in-ternational horse show, horse dressage and show jumping tournament as well as the Shetland pony festival are also included in the annual program.

Feiern ist angesagt

Veranstaltungen sind in Bad Harzburg quasi an

der Tagesordnung. Höhepunkt ist neben dem

Pferderennen das Salz- und Lichterfest im Au-

gust. Zwei Tage wird dann mit tausenden Besu-

chern gefeiert. Walpurgis, Kastanienblüten- und

Kastanienfest, Trike- und Oldtimertreffen, aber

auch musikalische Events, wie die internationa-

len Musiktage und die Open-Air-Summernight

stehen im Veranstaltungskalender. Ein breit auf-

gestelltes Kulturprogramm sowie viele Aktivitäten

seitens verschiedener Vereine der Stadt lassen

Langeweile zu einem Fremdwort werden.

Find great events in Bad Harzburg on a regular basis. The highlight next to the horse race is the salt and light festival in August. Over two days thousands of visitors celebrate here in Bad Harz-burg. Walpurgis night, chestnut tree and blossom festival, trike motorbikes and classic car rally, but also musical events such as the international mu-sic festival and the open-air-summernight are all events worthwhile experiencing. Many other cul-tural programs and activities are organized on the part of various associations, so boredom in Bad Harzburg is a thing of the past.

Vergnügen auf Eis und Schnee

Wandern in klarer Winterluft auf schneebedeckten

Wegen, ein einmaliger Blick auf den zu Eis erstarr-

ten Radau-Wasserfall, eine Rutschpartie auf dem

Schlitten, Eislaufen von Mitte November bis Ende

Februar auf der rund 1.000 m2 großen Frei-Eis-

bahn oder ab in die Loipe: In und um Bad Harzburg

bieten sich auch im Winter viele Freizeitaktivitäten.

Wer sich auf eine rasante Abfahrt begeben will, ist

mit Bus oder Pkw schnell im nur 23 km entfernten

Skigebiet am Braunlager Wurmberg mit seinen

auch künstlich beschneiten Pisten.

Bad Harzburg has many winter recreational acti-vities on offer such as hiking in clear winter air on snowy trails, a unique view of the frozen Radau waterfall, a ride on the toboggan run, ice skat-ing from mid November until the end of Februaryon the 1.000 m2 large outdoor skating rink or just enjoy the cross country skiing network. Those who want to embark on a rapid descent can go by bus or car to the ski resort in Braunlage, which is only 23 km away. Mount Wurmberg offers state of the art winter sport facilities including snow making equipment.

Besonderes entdecken

Als Wanderziel, außer in der Wintersaison auch

mit dem Bus erreichbar, gehört das Luchsgehege

an der Rabenklippe zum „Pfl ichtprogramm“ bei

einem Aufenthalt in Bad Harzburg. Im Auswilde-

rungsgehege des Nationalparks sind die Pinseloh-

ren hautnah zu erleben. Mittwochs und samstags

fi nden Schaufütterungen statt. Die Harzer Wander-

nadel als Trophäe, außergewöhnliche Touren mit

der Magd Minna, der Kiepenfrau Wally oder der

Hexe Tula, Kräuter- und Gesundheitswanderungen

sowie Entdeckungsreisen beim Geocaching sind

weitere individuelle Angebote.

A great hiking destination is the lynx enclosure at the Rabenklippe. Apart during the winter season you can reach this unique setting by bus.This en-closure in the National Park was built to preserve this stunning species with its brush like ears, whe-re today you can see these incredible animals up close. Wednesdays and Saturdays are public fee-ding days. The Harzer Wandernadel (harzer hiking pin) will lead you to extraordinary tours where you can be accompanied by maid Minna, the Kiepen woman Mrs Wally or the witch Tula. In addition herbal and health walks as well as geo-caching adventures are on offer.

Fünf Themenwanderwege gibt es rund um Bad Harzburg. Ziel ist es auf allen Touren, den Wande-

rern entspannte Stunden in der wunderschönen Natur zu bieten. Besondere Aussichtspunkte, in-

teressante Ziele, attraktive Einkehrmöglichkeiten und eine verlässliche Ausschilderung garantieren

dieses. Die Luchstour (ca. 16,4 km), die auch das Luchsgehege passiert, und die Kästeklippentour

(11,6 km) wurden vom Deutschen Wanderinstitut im August 2014 als Premiumwanderwege aus-

gezeichnet. Die weiteren Themenwege sind der Teufelsstieg auf den Brocken (ca. 13,3 km bis zum

Gipfel), der Rundweg Eckerstausee (ca. 10,2 km) sowie die Drei-Täler-Tour (ca. 16,9 km). Alle

Themenwanderwege und weitere Touren, wie der Besinnungsweg (ca. 1,6 km mit acht Verweilplät-

zen) oder der Harzer-Hexen-Stieg von Osterode über den Brocken nach Thale (ca. 96 km), sind im

Tourenplaner unter www.bad-harzburg.de einzusehen.

Five theme trails are available around Bad Harzburg. The aim of all tours is to offer hikers un-

forgettable hours in the beautiful nature. Specifi c viewpoints, interesting destinations, attrac-

tive small restaurants and reliable signage are guaranteed. The Luchstour (lynx tour, about

16.4 km), which also passes through the lynx enclosure, and the Kästeklippentour (11.6 km) have

been certifi ed by the German Hiking Institute in August 2014 with the award “Premium Walk”.

The other theme trails are the Teufelsstieg (devils climb) to the Brocken (about 13.3 km to the

summit), the circular route around Eckerstausee (reservoir, about 10.2 km) and the Drei-Täler-

Tour (three valley tour, about 16.9 km). All footpaths and other routes such as the Besinnungs-

weg (meditation trail, 1.6 km with eight resting places) or the Harzer-Hexen-Stieg (harzer witches

trail) from Osterode over the Brocken to Thale (about 96 km) can be found in the tour planner on

www.bad-harzburg.de.

Bad Harzburger Qualitätsgastgeber „Wanderbares Deutschland“

In unmittelbarer Nähe der Sole-Therme mit Sauna-Erlebniswelt, der Tourist-Information, der Burg-

berg-Seilbahn und dem Baumwipfelpfad liegt der Bad Harzburger Wohnmobil-Stellplatz. Er ist ganz-

jährig geöffnet und hat eine direkte Abfahrt von der B 4. Von Mai bis Ende Oktober stehen ca. 80

Stellplätze, in der übrigen Zeit ca. 40 Stellplätze, die auch für Mobile über acht Meter geeignet sind,

zur Verfügung. Für die Versorgung sind zehn Stromsäulen mit je sechs Anschlüssen sowie eine

Frischwasserentnahmestelle und eine Holiday Clean Anlage als Entsorgungsstation (alles gegen

Gebühr) installiert. Haustiere sind erlaubt. Zum Wohnmobil-Stellplatz gehören das Hexenstübchen

mit Grillstation und kostenpfl ichtige Sanitäranlagen. Zudem kann dort Propangas erworben werden.

The Bad Harzburg camping site is in the immediate vicinity of the Sole-Therme spa and sauna world,

the tourist information centre, Burgberg-Seilbahn (cable car) and the Baumwipfelpfad (tree top trail).

It is open all year and has direct exit from the main road B 4. From May to late October are about

80 plots available, during the other months about 40, which are also suitable for mobile homes over

eight meters long. For a surcharge ten power supply stations with six terminals as well as a fresh

water supply point and a waste disposal facility are available. Pets are allowed. The camping site has

a snackbar called Hexenstuebchen with BBQ as well as chargeable sanitary facilities. In addition you

can also purchase propane gas there.

Der Campingplatz „Harz-Camp“ mit 300 Stellplät-

zen befi ndet sich im Ortsteil Göttingerode und ist

von Bad Harzburg aus schnell zu erreichen. Mit

Sauna-Oase, Restaurant, SB-Laden und Kinder-

spielplätzen hält er für seine Gäste ein attraktives

Umfeld vor.

„Die Wölfe vom Wolfstein“: Der idyllisch gelege-

ne Campingplatz mit Terrassen, schönen Rasen-

fl ächen und tollen Aussichten bietet weitere 250

Stellplätze.

The camping site „Harz-Camp“ with 300 parking spaces is located in the district Goettingerode and is within easy reach of Bad Harzburg. Set in beautiful surrounding it has a sauna world, restaurant, shop and children‘s playground.

„Die Wölfe vom Wolfstein“ (the wolves from Wolf-stein): an idyllic camping site with terraces, lawns and great views offers another 250 parking spaces.

WOHNMOBIL-STELLPLATZ

Bad Harzburg ist staatlich anerkanntes Heilbad und verfügt über eine ausgezeichnete ärztliche Ver-

sorgung. In der Sole-Therme mit angeschlossener Physiotherapie sind zahlreiche Anwendungen für

das Gesundwerden und -bleiben buchbar. Auch im Reha-Bereich ist die Stadt mit drei Einrichtungen

bestens aufgestellt. Die Herzog-Julius-Klinik mit einer Fachabteilung für Orthopädie und Geriat-

rie liegt direkt am Kurpark. Die Barbarossa-Klinik mit 100 neurologischen Reha-Plätzen hat ihren

for orthopaedics and geriatrics is located directly by the Kurpark. The Barbarossa-Clinic with 100

neurological rehabilitation courses has its location in the Badepark opposite the Wandelhalle. An

interdisciplinary preventive therapy centre for mother and child is at the House Daheim located

directly by the National Park. Also in Bad Harzburg is the Fritz-König-Stift-Clinic for orthopaedic and

internal organs, which has specialists in end prosthetic procedures.

regelmäßig Konzerte und Vorträge zu besuchen.
