Die Anfänge der heute weltweit agierenden JCK-Gruppe liegen im Jahr 1838. Seitdem hat sich das Ursprungsunternehmen durch kontinuierliches Wachstum zu einer vielfältigen und leistungs-starken Unternehmensgruppe entwickelt.

Unsere Tochtergesellschaften sind vor allem in der Bekleidungsindustrie, den Bereichen Sport/Outdoor sowie in der Werbe-, Deko- und Geschenkartikel-branche tätig. Als Management- und Beteiligungs-holding bietet JCK diesen Tochtergesellschaften eine hervorragende Infrastruktur, vor allem durch ihre globale Ausrichtung und ihre besonders ausgeprägte Präsenz im asiatischen Raum.

The JCK Group, which today has operations throughout the world, had its beginnings in the year 1838. Since then, through continuous growth, the original company has developed into a multi-faceted, high-performing group of companies.

Our subsidiaries work above all in the clothing industry, the sports/outdoor field and the advertising, decoration articles and gift products sector. As a management and investment holding company, JCK provides its subsidiaries with an excellent infrastructure base, particularly through its global orientation and especially strong presence in the Asia region.

Seit 1999 sind soziale sowie Umweltschutzaspekte innerhalb der internationalen Lieferverflechtungen Bestandteil des Verhaltenskodex unserer Unter-nehmensgruppe. Unsere Verpflichtung, die Auswir-kungen unserer internationalen Geschäftstätigkeit auf Mensch und Umwelt zu analysieren und nach dem Grundsatz der Nachhaltigkeit zu handeln, doku-mentieren wir seit Mai 2008 durch die Mitgliedschaft unseres Tochterunternehmens G. Güldenpfennig GmbH in der BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative).

Gemeinsam sozial agieren | Acting together for the social good

Die Foreign Trade Association (FTA), ein auf interna-tionale Handelsfragen spezialisierter europäischer Verband des Handels mit Sitz in Brüssel, begann 2002, eine gemeinsame Plattform für die unterschiedlichen europäischen Verhaltenskodizes und Kontroll-mechanismen zu errichten. Damit war die Grundlage für ein gemeinsames europäisches Überwachungs-system für Sozialstandards gelegt. In den Jahren 2002 und 2003 veranstalteten Einzelhandelsunternehmen und Verbände mehrere Workshops, um die Rahmen-bedingungen für ein solches System festzulegen.Daraufhin gründete die FTA im März 2003 die Busi-ness Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) mit dem Ziel, die Instrumente und das Verfahren für das European Business Social Compliance Programme (Europäi-sches Programm für Sozialstandards) zu entwickeln.

To be able to maintain and further develop this infrastructure, we pay special attention to sustainability. For us, that means that in taking their decisions, the companies of our Group especially take ecological and social considerations into account, and not just economic factors. So as well as top quality, innovation and competitive value for money, we are also committed to building long-term working relationships with our customers and suppliers, based on fairness and trust.

For us, acting with responsibility is a matter of top priority and is a driving factor in our strategic planning for the future. Consequently, the production and processes at all our companies are geared to sustainability and holistics.

Since 1999, social and environmental aspects within our international supply network have been part of the code of conduct of our group of companies. Our commitment to analyzing the impact of our international business activities on people and the environment and to acting in accordance with the principles of sustainability has been evidenced since May 2008 through the membership of our subsidiary company G. Güldenpfennig GmbH in the BSCI (Business Social Compliance Initiative).

In the year 2002, the Foreign Trade Association (FTA), a European commerce association based in Brussels and specializing in international trade issues, began work on establishing a common platform for the various European codes of conduct and monitoring mechanisms. This formed the basis for a joint European system for monitoring social standards. In 2002 and 2003, retail trading companies and associations held a series of workshops in order to establish the framework conditions for such a system. Subsequently, in March 2003, the FTA founded the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI) with the aim of developing the instruments and procedures for the European Business Social Compliance Programme.

• Die Anforderungen und Vorschriften der BSCI werden bei jedem unserer Lieferanten durch ein unabhängiges Institut geprüft und in der BSCI-Datenbank dokumentiert.

• Unser Compliance Team überprüft unsere Lieferanten in einem Halbjahreszyklus; so wird eine nachhaltige Kontrolle der sozialen Standards gewährleistet.

• An individual qualification plan is drawn up for each supplier by our Compliance Team; the plan takes account of the supplier’s current social standards and the risks associated with the production country concerned.

• We collaborate closely and proactively with the suppliers’ management and offer compre- hensive consultancy, training and monitoring; all qualification measures are implemented and monitored on the basis of a defined time table and action plan.

• Compliance with the regulations and requirements of the BSCI is audited at each of our suppliers by an independent institute and documented in the BSCI database.

• Our Compliance Team inspects our suppliers at half‑yearly intervals; this ensures sustained monitoring of compliance with social standards.

Um Verbraucher und Umwelt zu schonen, stellen wir sicher, dass chemische Schadstoffe von der Produktion ausgeschlossen werden. Alle Produzenten,die für uns tätig werden, verpflichten wir schriftlichauf die Einhaltung der gesetzlichen Standards. DieVermeidung von Schadstoffen in der Produktion entlastet die Umwelt, schützt den Verbraucher undhat darüber hinaus zur Folge, dass Haupt- und Nebenprodukte besser entsorgt werden können.

Die JCK-Gruppe hat sich intensiv mit der geltendenREACh‑Verordnung (Registration, Evaluation andAuthorisation of Chemicals) befasst und interneProzesse zu deren Einhaltung festgelegt.

To protect the consumers and the environment, we ensure that harmful chemical substances are excluded from production. All producers who work forus have to give a written undertaking to comply withthe statutory standards. The avoidance of harmfulsubstances in production relieves the burden on theenvironment and protects the consumers, and hasthe additional advantage that main products and by-products can be better disposed of.

The JCK Group has concerned itself in detail with the valid REACh Regulation (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals) and has put internalprocesses in place to ensure compliance with it.

In unserem eigenen Prüfungslabor führen wir zudemumfangreiche Produkt- und Materialtests durch, diees uns ermöglichen, die von unseren Kunden gefor-derte Qualität zu erreichen. Unsere Prüfungen umfas-sen dabei ein breites Spektrum an physikalischen undchemischen Produkt- und Materialprüfungen.

Darüber hinaus ist unser Handeln darauf ausgerich-tet, ökologische Belastungen durch giftige Abwässerzu minimieren. Hier überwacht das JCK ComplianceTeam die Einhaltung unserer Vorgaben an den Pro-duktionsstätten.

Additionally, we have our own test laboratory where we conduct extensive product and material testing to enable us to achieve the quality demanded by our customers. The tests encompass a wide range of physical and chemical product and material tests.

On top of this, all our actions are geared to minimizing pollution of the environment through toxic effluent. The JCK Compliance Team monitors compliance with our specifications by the production facilities in this area.
