Hi Pal, i am not going to go on about how brilliant you are as you already know that! but personally i would like to say that your songs have helped me through so many rough patches in my life, they have inspired me to write and sing my own songs (albeit Country!), my only wish is that we could get to see more of you over here in bonny Scotland, however i have the Glasgow gig to look forward to. ( give me a wee wave!) So once again thank you, and i hope your birthday is a damn good one! Love Grace.

Hi, First of all I’d like to congratulate you and hope you had a nice birthday. Furthermore I’d like to thank you for signing my photo when we met in Utrecht on 17 june 2002. You asked me where the photo was taken. The photo was taken in The Hague (before the concert ) on 4 april 1991 with Morten and me on it and in the background Mags. You said: “Hey, where’s me?” Sorry you were not on that photo. I did have a photo with you, Morten and Mags on it and the other dutch girls who won the meeting with you in 1991, unfortunately I lend the photo out to someone but never got the photo back (luckily I did make a copy of it). The concert in Utrecht on 17 june 2002 was great, the way you played the guitar that evening, you could see you really enjoyed the show. I am glad to see you, Morten and Magne again. Hei Paul, This Message is in three parts. The first part is just a beginning, and you are right in now! Thanks for reading all this messages. I must confess, I never believe, that you would read this messages. But that maybe one of tousands of your hidden faces. Part two is only for you, because it was your birthday: Happy Birthday, Paul. Enjoy all the day, and take care of your familiy. Family and friends are the most important thing on earth. Part three is for you and Lauren. Keep on going with Savoy. All the years, I never liked Savoy. But I must admit, I never heared a song. I mean, I was an a-ha Fan. And Savoy was something new, something, that can be a dangerous for a-ha. I think often about my bad thought against your band in the past. I think the best way to explain, is with friends. It is the same feeling, when you had a best friend in your childhood. Then some years later, this friend has a boyfriend, and less time for you. For some friendships can this be very strong. Later when you grow up, you unterstand, that this friend can be both, your friend, and the love of her new friend. Something like this was it for me beetween a-ha and Savoy. With the time, I unterstand, that Paul can do both a-ha and Savoy. Not even that, I think to realize, that Savoy is the best thing that could happen. I mean look at the pictures, look how lucky you both look! So, what was the moment for me, to hear Savoy. It is exact one year ago. I meet Briskeby in Zurich. And because it was on your birthday (06.09.01), we talked a bit about you. Claus was absolut enthused about your new album. He told us, that he had the very lucky chance, to be invited in your studio. Infected from him, I was wondering about this album. And some weeks later when I was in Norway, I bought the album "reasons to stay indoors". And what should I tell you? I was infected from the first note! I put the CD in my stereo, and leave it there for month. This music, it is so deep, so natural, so fantastic. For me, it sounds like it comes from the middle of me, you, the earth. I looked in the Internet and ordered all your CD's. And what should I say? I listen more Savoy then a-ha now. I think it is fantastic, how can make one man two such different kind of music? Perhaps it is the influence of Lauren, perhaps it is, because you are not under the influence of Magne and Morten. What ever it is, it is perfekt! Now I will enjoy the a-ha concerts and looking forward to a new Savoy Album. Now I know, Paul can do both, and in the musical part of my heart is space for both (or better three) savoy, briskeby and a-ha. Dear Paul, there is not much I would like to add to the message I already wrote for a-ha. First of all, I must tell you that I consider you as one of the best song writers of our time. I once heard Morten saying during an interview that your complete life is full of music. It certainly is like that since I can not think of any other reason, why you have been able to write such beautiful melodies for so many years. Just simply stay the way you are, keep on writing and rock on ! Best wishes Lindy
