    Getting StartedEach player will be responsible or building, organizing and mainaining a cul o despicable degener-aes. o begin, pick one o he Cul Archeypes as a saring emplae. I will ell you wha models areallowable and oher special rules relaing o your cul o choice.

    A saring cul has 40 Resource Poins (RP) o uilize in he recruimen o is members. ResourcePoins are usable as eiher Build Poins or Base Poins, represening he culs abiliy o persuade wihmoney and by oher, less wholesome means

    A saring cul mus be beween 5 and 12 models, and can grow o as many as you can aord o main-ain. Culs mus be led by one (and only one) Magus. Sar by choosing and equipping he Magusas you see . Your reshly equipped Magus will need a Congregaion o depraved ollowers o helphim execue his oul schemes. Check he Congregaion secion o your Cul Archeype or allowablechoices, hen purchase and equip hem.

    Models

    Boh players will need somewhere beween 5-12 models o represen heir saring culs. Te modelsused in Von Unaussprechlichen Kulen are beween 25 and 30 millimeers scale and are produced bymany ne companies. Regardless o which models you choose o use you will need o represen everyprole you will be using wih a model on he ableop.

    Playing Area And Scenery

    Games should be played on a level surace ha measures roughly 2 x 3; larger games wih more han15 models a side may be played on ables up o 4 x 6. Von Unaussprechlichen Kulen is based in aroughly hisorical seting someime aer 1920 and can ake place anywhere in he world. Scenery canbe as varied as you like, ranging rom home buil oam hills o arcane archiecure o evil laboraories.

    Use he picures and phoographs in his rulebook as a saring poin and expand rom here. Te onlylimi o your advenures is your imaginaion.

    Dice

    Rolling dice represens he elemen o chance in Von Unaussprechlichen Kulen. Tey will be used odecide he success or ailure o mos Acions your models carry ou. All dice rolls use a sandard sixsided dice or D6. o be well prepared or any game circumsances i is suggesed ha you have a leas10 six-sided dice (10D6). Someimes you will be asked o add or subrac rom he resul (D6-2), or

    CharacteristicsEvery model in a game o Von Unaussprechlichen Kulen is dened by a se o characerisics. Allmodels use he same characerisics and hey will always be presened in he same order. Tese char-acerisics are as ollows: Movemen, Dexeriy, Consiuion, Atacks, Wounds and Resolve. I a char-acerisic ever drops o 0 permanenly ha model is considered dead and can ake no urher par in

    Dexeriy (Dex.)

    Dexeriy measures a models hand-eye coordinaion, which deermines is abiliy o shoo andraverse obsacles on he ableop. A model mus roll is Dexeriy score or higher in order o hia arge when Shooing.

    Consiuion (Con.)

    Tis characerisic is a measure o how ough an individual model is. Consiuion is used o resisdamage rom Shooing and Close Comba atacks.

    Atacks (A)

    Te Atack characerisic deermines how many dice a model rolls in Close Comba. Close Com-ba weapons will no increase he number o dice rolled, bu raher give a bonus o he resul o heroll. Tis is represened in he weapon prole as a Close Comba Bonus (C.C.B.).

    Wounds (W)

    A models Wounds characerisic indicaes how many imes he model can be wounded beore be-ing killed or incapaciaed (removed rom he able/game).

    Sel-conrol, deerminaion and courage under re; Resolve is he measure o a models seadas-ness. Models will have o es agains heir Resolve o remain sane in momens o grea sress orhorror. Models ailing a Resolve es roll on he Insaniy able and go emporarily insane.

    SkillsSkills represen special non-characerisic capabiliies models possess; he apiudes and abiliies hase hem apar rom oher models. Culs mus earn skills by winning games. Resource Poins maynever be spen on skills. A Cul Magus may earn up o 10 skills, members o he Congregaion mayearn up o 5 skills each and any oher Lurkers rom he Allowable Lurkers available may gain 2 skillseach. Tis nomi-naed model will perorm wo Acions o he players choice beore he urn is complee. Te oherplayer will hen ake his urn and so on, coninuing on unil one side has no more models on he

    ableop or he scenario objecive is complee.

    ActionsWhen a model is nominaed i mus perorm wo Acions beore he urn ends and play is urnedover o he opponen. Nominaed models can perorm any combinaion o Acions in any order. Per-missible Acions are as ollows: Change Sae, Charge, Move, Shoo or Oher.

    Change Sae

    Models will Change Sae due o Injury and Insaniy. Tere are hree saes: Normal, Face Up andFace Down. I akes an Acion o Change Saes rom Face Down o Face Up and an Acion o go

    rom Face Up o Normal. Models ha are no Normal may no use he Command or Lieuenanskills unil heir Sae changes.

    Charge

    Models wishing o engage he enemy in Close Comba mus Charge hem. A Charge is a MoveAcion ha brings he nominaed model ino base-o-base wih an enemy model. A round o CloseComba is ough immediaely.

    Move

    A Move Acion allows a model o move up o is Movemen Characerisic in inches.

    ShooI you have line o sigh and are wihin range o any par o an enemy model (including he base) youmay Shoo a ha model. Roll as many dice as he Rae indicaed in he prole o your weapon.

    Oher

    Someimes models will need o complee a number o Acions o accomplish a goal in a cerainScenario. Searching, atemping o commi suicide and desecraing Grave Markers all ake Acionso perorm. Anyhing ha is no a Change Sae, Charge, Move or Shoo Acion alls ino hiscaegory. Simply spend he allocaed number o Acions and ollow he rules specied by he Sce-nario.

    Change Sae Acions

    A Change Sae Acion may only be chosen i a model has been placed Face Down or Face Up dueo Injury or Psychology. Models may choose nohing oher han Change Sae Acions unil hey areNormal. Models may NEVER be Compelled o Change Sae or ANY reason. A model may no usehe Command or Lieuenan skill in any sae excep Normal.

    Close Comba (o hi)

    Models have an Atacks characerisic ha denoes how many dice are rolled in Close Comba. CloseComba weapons have a Close Comba Bonus (C.C.B.) ha adds o he highes dice rolled. Modelsin Close Comba each roll heir dice, apply he C.C.B. and compare oals. I hese oals are he same,hen he Close Comba is considered a Draw.

    Damage (o wound)

    Muliple Opponens

    Models engaged in Close Comba may only arge one enemy model a a ime. A model gains +1 A-ack or every addiional riendly model (no including isel) also in base-o-base wih he model be-ing atacked. I a Draw agains muliple opponens occurs, he player mus choose one model o ghClose Comba and receive bonus Atacks (a he sar o he urn).

    Leaving Close Comba

    Models may choose o leave Close Comba aer hey win o hi and beore rolling o wound. SimplyMove he winning model up o is Movemen characerisic in inches away. I a model suers romRevulsion and breaks rom Close Comba however, i is a much dieren sory. Te opponen rolls aree Wound beore any Move is aken. I he model suering Revulsion is sill alive and Normal i mayhen Move ou o base-o-base.

    Move Acions

    Each ime a nominaed model uses a Move Acion, i may move any disance (in inches) up o isMovemen characerisic. Move Acions may NEVER end in base-o-base wih an enemy model (ha

    would be a Charge). A model may NEVER Move hrough anoher models base, bu when measuringo Move he ape measure may be ben, curved or posiioned however he player sees .

    errain

    Players may use any errain ha hey have, as games can ake place anywhere in he world. Alhoughhe able op need no be covered wih errain, here should be a leas our o six pieces on a 2x3board and more or a larger playing area. errain has been broken down ino hree ypes or ease oplay.

    Open: Open ground, srees, rolling hills and any obsacle under 1 high. Open errain has no eecon Movemen.

    ough: Rubble, boulders, walls and any obsacle rom 1 o 2 all. Models Moving ino Rough er-rain suer 2 Movemen unil no longer in base conac wih he errain.

    Impassable: Lava pools, botomless crevasses, any obsacle over 2 high wih no ladders, ec. Mod-els may NEVER ener Impassable errain volunarily. I hey end up here by oher means (Trow,Power, alling) hey auomaically suer a Major Injury.

    Ladders and Such

    Ladders, handholds, ropes: basically anyhing ha a model could use o scale a sheer surace can beconsidered o use hese rules. I a model a he botom o a ladder uses a Move Acion i may Move upo 6 up he ladder and be placed in base-o-base wih he op edge o he surace i climbed. Tis mayalso be done in he reverse, moving down he ladder. I here is a model in base-o-base wih he op orbotom o he ladder, i may no be climbed unil he blocking model is Moved or removed rom play,hus clearing he way.

    Shoo Acions

    Whenever a Shoo Acion is chosen or a model, here mus be line o sigh o an enemy wihin Range.I he model has several Ranged weapons, one mus be chosen or his urn. o Shoo ollow heseseps:

    Choose arge by checking line o sigh and range. Check or Cover.Roll as many dice o hi as he weapons Rae. arge may save i in Cover.Make Damage rolls o wound.

    Each Ranged weapon in Von Unaussprechlichen Kulen has a Rae. o shoo, simply ake as manydice as he weapons Rae. Roll he dice and compare he resuls o he shooing models Dexeriy: alldice rolled ha are equal o or above his value have hi he arge. I he arge benes rom a Save,i mus be aken now.

    Cover Saves

    A argeed model may gain a Cover Save i here is errain beween i and he atacker, or i he modelis inside or behind a errain piece ha grans cover. For ease o play here are hree ypes o Cover.

    Ligh: Shor walls, craers, hedges and any obsrucion in line o sigh. Model gains a 6+ Save.

    Medium: Ruins, rocks, any errain ha covers a leas hal o he arge rom view. 5+ Save.

    Heavy: renches, bunkers, any errain ha covers more han hal he arge rom view. 4+ Save.Decide which ype o cover save he model benes rom, and roll one dice or each hi. Rolls ha areequal o or greaer han he number required are a considered a Save, which negaes he hi.

    Oher Acions

    Oher Acions are used o cover a wide variey o siuaions ha may arise in games. Some weaponsrequire he use o an Acion o load or prime (Ready). Searching, checking or raps and planing ex-plosives all ake Acions o perorm as well. Anyhing ha is no a Change Saes, Charge, Move, orShoo Acion alls ino his caegory. Several Acions may be required o ulll a scenario objecive bu

    Favour poins may be spen a any ime (pre, during or pos-game) and may be used in he ollowingways.

    Any one dice ha you roll, pre, during or pos-game, may be modied o whaever number you

    would like beween 1 and 6.Any one dice ha your opponen rolls during a game may be modied o whaever number youwould like beween 1 and 6.o play a Favour Scenario o your choice, spend a poin during he pre-game eiher beore or aer

    you have rolled or scenario.
