Bamboo. Light, soft and quiteirresistible

Soft. Not a term normally associated with the rigid, greenbamboo plants in our garden. But a newly developed technique has

made it possible to utilise all the good qualities from bamboo in textiles.And textiles mixed with bamboo offer many advantages, among others:

- Super soft but still hardwearing- Natural, allergy friendly and anti-bacterial

- Allows skin to breathe and dispose of impurities- 100% degradable

MiniStar uses bamboo textiles, simply because it is the ideal material for nightwear, bed linen,underwear, facecloths and towels. All the items we hold close to our body and want to feel

comfortable in and with.

Facts about bamboo:Botanically, bamboo is provided with tiny holes and therefore capable of absorbing considerable

amounts of liquid without seeming wet. In fact up to 60% more than cotton.Bamboo contains a substance called Bamboo Kun". This has anti-bacterial properties and innature, renders bamboo resistant to bacterial attacks. Research shows that textiles containingbamboo eliminates over 70% of the bacteria to which the material is exposed. Even after 50

washes.Bamboo is the worlds fastest growing plant. It easily grows up to 15 cm a day. The plant

is very hardy and requires no pesticides. Southeast Asia accounts for the majority of theglobal bamboo production. Here the plant is ripe for harvest after just 3-4 years andnew shoots appear almost instantly. Bamboo releases a lot of oxygen and absorbs 5times the amount of greenhouse gasses compared to trees. Last, but not least the

bamboo roots absorb water and protect river banks in otherwise exposedareas.

The pandas eat bamboo. But not the bamboo used in textiles. The

industrial bamboo is far too rigid and grows in places notfrequented by the pandas. So by using bamboo in ourtextiles, were not endangering the cute and

lovable pandas!
