STRUCTURĂ. SERVICII OFERITE CITITORILOR
FONDUL DE DOCUMENTE
Biblioteca UAUIM cuprinde un fond de documente de cca. 204.000 de unităţi biblioteconomice de specialitate. Fondul documentar este repartizat după cum urmează: 104.720 de cărţi, 64.476 de volume de periodice, 30.365 de volume de cursuri, în jur de 600 de volume de teze de doctorat, în jur de 5500 de lucrări de licenţă şi postuniversitare, 1900 de dicţionare, o bogată colecţie de normative (incluzând peste 6.000 de STAS-uri), documente electronice (dischete, CD-uri si alte unităţi de înregistrare cu materiale specifice). Colecţiile sale cresc permanent prin achiziţiile efectuate de colectivul unui birou specializat. Biblioteca mai dispune de un valoros fond de carte veche.
Evidenţa si circulaţia fondului de carte si de periodice achiziţionate după 1990, sunt informatizate. În programul Bibliotecii este prevăzută introducerea în baza de date a întregului fond de care dispune.
ACCESAREA DOCUMENTELOR:
În cadrul Bibliotecii UAUIM, publicaţiile se pun la dispoziţia cititorilor prin acces liber la raft, în cadrul sălilor de lectură. Depistarea informaţiei căutate se realizează prin:
consultarea softului de bibliotecă Liberty5 pentru publicaţiileindexate automatizat;
consultarea fişierelor CZU şi DE AUTORI în cadrul sălilor delectură şi, respectiv, a secţiei de împrumut, pentru publicaţiileneindexate automatizat;
consultarea Buletinului Informativ al Bibliotecii (cu o periodicitateanuală), a Caietului de Bibliografii. Periodice (cu o periodicitateanuală), a Caietului de bibliografii. Cărţi (cu o periodicitate anuală)şi a altor lucrări de specialitate.
Lucrările cele mai căutate sunt clasificate în sistemul CZU (Clasificare Zecimală Universală), care reprezintă o convenţie

internaţională de enumerare a tuturor cunoştinţelor umane pe domenii tematice. Acesta este alcatuit din următoarele 10 clase:

Fiecare din aceste clase se subîmparte, prin adăugarea unei cifre, în zece subclase, extinderea putându-se continua arborescent prin creşterea numărului de cifre ale fracţiei zecimale şi urmând principiul derivării de la general la particular.
Ramificaţiile CZU, care conduc către publicaţii de interes pentru arhitecţi, sunt:

CONSULTAREA LUCRĂRILOR ÎN SĂLILE DE LECTURĂ
În Biblioteca UAUIM au acces: personalul didactic, studenţii,doctoranzii si ceilalţi angajaţi ai universităţii, precum şi specialiştii dinalte domenii de activitate.
Consultarea publicaţiilor în sălile de lectură se face numai în bazacardului de student ISIC (International Student Identity Card) și apermisului de acces pentru cititorii externi, vizat pe anul universitar încurs.
Este interzisă ieşirea cititorilor din sala de lectură cu publicaţiileconsultate. În caz contrar, cititorii în cauză vor suporta o penalizare ceva fi stabilită de conducerea Bibliotecii.
Termenul de împrumut al cursurilor şi materialelor didactice de lasecţia de împrumut a Bibliotecii coincide cu anul universitar în curs.
Biblioteca poate reclama restituirea publicaţiilor înainte de epuizareatermenului, în eventualitatea că acestea sunt solicitate la sala delectură.
Publicaţiile de referinţă, colecţiile de periodice şi colecţiile de carte nu se împrumută în afara sălilor de lectură.
Pentru anul universitar 2019-2020, plata penalizărilor pentru întârzierea restituirii publicaţiilor împrumutate se realizează conform deciziei Rectoratului şi a Senatului UAUIM.

În sălile de lectură, un operator specializat în fotocopiere vă stă la dispoziţie pentru reproducerea, contra cost, a paginilor care vă interesează în mod deosebit.

Biblioteca în arhitectura lui Alvar Aalto
Considerații generale
Hugo Alvar Henrik Aalto (Kuortane, Finlanda, 3 februarie 1898 -
Helsinki, Finlanda, 11 mai 1976) se numără printre cei mai influenți
arhitecți ai secolului XX, apreciat - alături de Ludwig Mies van der Rohe,
Walter Gropius, Frank Lloyd Wright și Le Corbusier - ca fiind unul dintre
maeștrii Mișcării Moderne.
Opera lui Alvar Aalto s-a desfășurat într-un orizont foarte larg,
începând cu proiectarea construcțiilor și amenajarea teritoriului, trecând
prin designul de mobilier și terminând cu designul obiectelor din sticlă și
al bijuteriilor. Aalto este recunoscut pentru capacitatea sa de a găsi
punctul perfect de întâlnire între formă și funcționalitate, eleganță și
concret.
Etichetat succesiv drept un exponent al arhitecturii clasice,
romantic-naționaliste, raționaliste sau funcționaliste, Alvar Aalto a căutat,
se pare, o sinteză a contrariilor, reușind să asocieze o serie de principii,
valori și instrumente arhitecturale diferite, într-o armonie perfect
funcțională, dependentă de voința umană. De-a lungul evoluției sale
stilistice, Aalto a fost plasat în curente precum funcționalism, regionalism

critic și raționalism empiric, care și-au găsit particularități unice de
dezvoltare în țările scandinave și s-au caracterizat prin cercetări
sensibile în utilizarea luminii, a culorii și a materialelor specifice locului,
arhitectul încercând să creeze spații care să răspundă organic nevoilor
biologice și funcționale ale celor care le folosesc. Conform criticului
Kenneth Frampton1, clădirile proiectate de Aalto între 1923 și 1927,
aveau un pregnant caracter doric, identificat prin dihotomia dintre
viziunile culturii arhaice, prin folosirea lemnului local și o anume rigiditate
austeră clasică. Urmează însă ca după 1927 Aalto să se îndrepte către
clasicismul romantic, iar începând cu 1928 să se maturizeze sub
influența modernismului.
La nivelul compoziției, Aalto își arată adevărata măiestrie. Inovația
sa este profundă în articularea volumelor modelate pe forma terenului, în
deplina stăpânire a vocabularului formal, a curbelor și a unghiurilor
neobișnuite, a străpungerilor ciudate, a capcanelor de captare a luminii,
toate acestea dând viață și farmec compozițiilor sale.
Biblioteci aaltiene
Editată în anul 2018, lucrarea Alvar Aalto Libraries2, prefațată de
distinsul istoric al arhitecturii britanice, profesorul Kenneth Frampton,
oferă o imagine de ansamblu asupra celor nouăsprezece biblioteci
proiectate de către Alvar Aalto, inclusiv asupra librăriilor academice din
Helsinki. Cronologic, clădirile finalizate variază de la Biblioteca Viipuri,

din anii 1930, până la Biblioteca Alajärvi, din anii '90, care a fost
construită după moartea lui Aalto.
Bibliotecile proiectate de Alvar Aalto au satisfăcut diverse nevoi,
fiind, de exemplu, părți ale unor centre administrative, instituționale sau
culturale mai mari. Un grup semnificativ îl constituie bibliotecile publice,
precum cele din Viipuri, Seinäjoki, Rovaniemi și Wolfsburg. O altă
categorie cuprinde bibliotecile academice de la Universitatea Jyväskylä,
Universitatea Aalto sau sau cea a mănăstirii Mount Angel, iar în final, pot
fi incluse bibliotecile din casele private proiectate de Aalto, cum ar fi Villa
Mairea și Maison Louis Carré.
"Peisaje culturale" reale, așa cum le numește Frampton,
bibliotecile proiectate de arhitectul finlandez, din Statele Unite ale
Americii în Rusia, din Finlanda până în Franța, pot fi considerate o
sinteză ideală a viziunii sale în raport cu nevoile publicului:
nouăsprezece clădiri, părți ale clădirilor sau camere simple, toate indică
potrivirea perfectă dintre esențialitate și experimentare, în care studiul
luminii naturale, prerogativa esențială în țările nordice, căldura lemnului
și curățenia liniilor, formelor și culorilor contribuie la crearea unor medii
cu geometrii aparent simple, dar care ascund o realitate spațială
complexă. Această realitate implică sfera psihologică a omului, arhitectul
finlandez demonstrând o preocupare vizibilă pentru regândirea creației
arhitecturale în vederea protejării simțurilor umane. În cazul lui Alvar
Aalto, desprinderea de Bauhaus și funcționalismul său au avut loc sub
steagul unui nou umanism naturalist, iar bibliotecile proiectate ilustrează
perfect această direcție.

Biblioteca din Viipuri/Vyborg, Finlanda/URSS (1927-1935)
Primul proiect al bibliotecii din Viipuri datează din anul 1927, când,
în cadrul unui concurs public, Alvar Aalto a fost premiat și desemnat să
realizeze în parcul din localitatea Viipuri o bibliotecă publică pentru o
comunitate aflată în plină ascensiune demografică. La realizarea acestui
proiect, Aalto a lucrat încă trei ani, criza din anul 1929 determinând
administrația publică locală să amâne finalizarea construcției până în
anul 1935.
În ciuda faptului că a fost clasată drept o lucrare fundamentală în
arhitectura scandinavă modernă, Biblioteca Viipuri a căzut în întuneric
timp de trei sferturi de secol, până în anul 2014, când, ca urmare a
recentei sale renovări, a fost acoperită de mass-media din întreaga lume.
Biblioteca are mai multe săli de lectură, un amfiteatru, o sală de
conferințe, o bibliotecă pentru copii, o sala de periodice şi birouri.
Subsolul, în întregime, este destinat unei librării.
"În ciuda inspirației sale fenomenologice și a relevanței acordate
experienței, compoziția bibliotecii este determinată de un proces strict
logic. Dialogul dintre diferitele elemente ale clădirii este determinat
geometric de grile scalare, relații proporționale și rotații. Biroul
administrativ - inima programatică a clădirii - este și centrul său
geometric, generând un impuls radial care aliniază rafturile și scările cu
un singur punct, un motiv circular puternic într-un sistem care altfel ar fi
ortogonal. Suprapunerile de grilă duc la crearea de spații interstițiale,
cum ar fi coridorul din spatele sălii de conferințe […]. În cazul Bibliotecii
din Viipuri, sala de lectură are o morfologie rectangulară, diferențiată ca

percepție pe verticală, potențând expresia întregului ansamblu prin
tratarea ei diferențiată.3
De remarcat la biblioteca din Viipuri este și interpretarea autentic
organică a principiilor de organizare a spațiului, evidențiată prin
designului plafonului ondulat, din lemn, al sălii de conferințe, care, prin
morfologie și materialitate, potențează caracterul specific finlandez. În
paralel cu expresia organică a plafonului, arhitectul Călin Irimescu
identifică motivația sa funcțională: "aceea a unei acustici perfecte,
datorate finisajului din baghete subțiri de lemn, plafonul fiind proiectat în
așa fel încât undele sunetelor reflectate de către tavanul ondulat să se
transmită în mod uniform în sală, creându-se astfel o atmosferă de mare
intimitate."4
Cincizeci și șapte de luminatoare în formă de con trunchiat sunt
distribuite pe tavanul ca o boltă înstelată al bibliotecii, oferind cititorilor o
lumină uniformă, fără umbre sau strălucire artificială. Acest model de
iluminat, extrem de eficient, a devenit un element fundamental al
designului lui Aalto, aplicat și în cazul bibliotecilor Otaniemi și Rautatalo.
"Deși Biblioteca Viipuri aparține incontestabil tradiției moderniste incipiente, se observă constant o tendință calculată de a se îndepărta de funcționalismul pur. Detaliile bogate care nu sunt nici raționale, nici pur ornamentale, cum ar fi bretelele cu diagonală de pe ușa din față sau balustradele scărilor, adaugă o notă expresivă și personală formelor moderne. Întotdeauna atent la mediul și tradițiile țării sale, Aalto a îmbogățit puritățile formale ale designului modern al bibliotecii Viipuri cu o paletă de materiale tipice arhitecturii finlandeze. Stucul alb, betonul și sticla de pe fațadă contrastează cu finisajele calde din lemn ale interioarelor, inclusiv tavanul din lemn ondulat al sălii de conferințe. Preocuparea lui

Aalto pentru iluminarea naturală, un simbol atemporal al designului scandinav, face aluzie la metodele de construcție locale. Aceste impulsuri, îndepărtate de modernismul convențional mainstream, permit bibliotecii să se încadreze într-o categorie timpurie a modernismului regional"5.

Biblioteca din Rovaniemi, Finlanda (1961-1965)
Biblioteca municipală este una dintre cele trei clădiri proiectate de
Alvar Aalto pentru a forma un centru civic și cultural pentru Rovaniemi.
Biblioteca reprezintă prima etapă a viitorului centru cultural și administrativ.
Vastele spații pe care le cuprinde au făcut ca aceasta să devină biblioteca
centrală a Laponiei.
Principala sală a bibliotecii este în formă de evantai și împarte în
două spațiul pieței centrale. Zona principală, cu deschidere către partea
liniștită a pieței, primește lumina naturală dinspre nord. Aici se află
biblioteca pentru copii, tineret și adulți, muzeul lapon și sala de lectură
pentru studenți. La nivelul întâi se află administrația, săli de lucru și de
studiu, săli de lectură și săli de conferințe etc. Biblioteca surprinde prin
organizarea planimetrică, dispunerea funcțiunilor în jurul unui nucleu
central, intim, care sintetizează simbolic rolul bibliotecii. Acest tip de
dispunere a spațiilor marchează prezența spațiilor pivotate, sub formă de
rânduri sau conglomerate, cărora li se atribuie proprietăți funcționale
comune. În multe dintre bibliotecile lui Aalto, aceste încăperi suport sunt
menite a deveni elemente ale repaosului, care anunță, prin contrast,
intensitatea vitală a spațiului central, potențându-i astfel importanța. Spațiul
central este de obicei zona destinată întâlnirii, socializării. Poziționarea
"scufundată" a sălii de lectură îi potențează importanța, creând senzația
unui altfel de spațiu. Efectele subtile pe care le creează și în cazul acestei
biblioteci juxtapunerea luminii naturale albe, mate, cu lumina galbenă,
artificială, sunt exemple ale înțelegerii finlandeze a luminii și ale înțelegerii
spațiului de către Aalto.
La subsol se află o sală de proiecție și muzeul ornitologic. Spațiile
destinate muzeului sunt astfel concepute, încât pot deveni în orice moment
săli de bibliotecă. Fațada ridicată a camerei principale este împărțită în cinci

sectoare, acoperite cu plăci ceramice albe, verticale și continuate cu
luminatoare, iar tâmplăria ferestrelor și a ușilor exterioare este din lemn de
culoare închisă.

Biblioteca Mănăstirii Mount Angel, Oregon, SUA (1963-1970)
Fondată în 1888 pe un deal, cu vedere la valea regiunii Oregon,
mănăstirea Mount Angel a avut inițial o bibliotecă adăpostită în clădiri
improvizate și foarte vulnerabile. Două incendii din primii cincizeci de ani
de viață și achiziția (după cel de-al Doilea Război Mondial) a unei colecții
neprețuite de 4.000 de cărți rare, inclusiv un manuscris complet al Bibliei,
datat în jurul anului 1280, și o traducere în limba germană a Bibliei,
tipărită în 1476, au determinat, la sfârșitul anilor '50, luarea deciziei de a
construi o clădire mai sigură și mai potrivită pentru a proteja patrimoniul
documentar extrem de valoros.
Pentru realizarea noii biblioteci, primul bibliotecar calificat al
mănăstirii a ales dintre candidaturile unor mari arhitecți ai vremii - I. M.
Pei, Louis I. Kahn etc. - profilul arhitectului finlandez Alvar Aalto, ale
cărui experiențe extinse și viziuni arhitecturale se pretau cel mai bine
spațiului și cerințelor funcționale ale mănăstirii.
Biblioteca în formă de evantai este situată în partea de sud a
patrulaterului clădirilor care alcătuiesc mănăstirea, pe un teren denivelat,
ale cărui specificații au fost transformate de Aalto în avantaje pentru
proiectarea clădirii.
Încercând să folosească culori similare cu cele ale clădirilor care o
înconjoară, biblioteca pare extrem de discretă. Din depărtare, ea este
percepută ca un volum orizontal al unui singur etaj care arată totuși
oarecare deosebire față de vecinii săi, în special de biserica principală.
În realitate, clădirea dezvăluie totuși unele dintre particularitățile sit-ului și
ale programului. Aalto a avut de la început ideea de a profita de
denivelările terenului pentru a crea o sală de lectură scufundată și
terasată care, luminată de luminatoare, era spațiul central al clădirii.

Dintre cele cinci niveluri de lectură gândite inițial, proiectul final a
conservat doar trei, incluzând mezaninul.
Pentru proiect, Aalto s-a bazat pe multe dintre resursele formale pe
care le-a dezvoltat și maturizat încă de la începutul carierei sale. Cele
mai evidente au fost luminatoarele conice care au apărut pentru prima
dată în Viipuri, zăbrelele din bucăți de lemn verticale, denivelările din
sălile de lectură etc. Interiorul abundă în forme curbate, multe dintre ele
fiind în formă de val, iar o mare parte din iluminatul interior este natural.
Aalto a proiectat și mobilierul, care a fost construit în fabricile sale din
Finlanda. Lemnul este utilizat în întregul interior.
În contrast cu amploarea spațiului central, se remarcă sălile de
lectură mici, pupitrele individuale, colțurile folosite de arhitect pentru a
introduce un fotoliu sau o masă de studiu. Pentru Aalto, actul de citire a
fost cel mai important aspect de luat în considerare în proiectarea unei
biblioteci, așa că a încercat întotdeauna să-i ofere lumină indirectă prin
lucarne, luminatoare, pereți albi și suprafețe reflectorizante. Din acest
motiv, multe dintre bibliotecile sale, inclusiv cea a mănăstirii oferă puține
vederi către exterior. Singurele abateri sunt un salon cu ferestre mari,
destinat consultării revistelor și ziarelor, cabinetele private ale călugărilor
și micile ferestre pătrate dintre segmentele evantai care încadrează
peisajul.
Biblioteca are o semnificație religioasă importantă, dar pentru
arhitecți există o legătură semnificativă la interfața dintre umanism și
modernism - o alternativă la modernismul convențional, prima de acest
fel din SUA.

Donația de carte post-mortem arh. Bryan Avery, în număr de 741
de volume de specialitate, a fost transferată în fondurile Bibliotecii
Universității de Arhitectură și Urbanism ’’Ion Mincu’’ din București. Dna
arh. Gabriele Avery, manager de proiect donație, a inițiat acest demers
către Biblioteca noastră în numele donatorului, arh. Bryan Avery.
Donația a fost intermediată prin eforturile susținute ale dnei conf. dr. arh.
Françoise Pamfil, coordonator proiect.
Lucrările din colecția arh. Bryan Avery acoperă o arie largă şi
variată din literatura de specialitate, printre care amintim lucrări care se
înscriu în zona mongrafiilor dedicate atât diverselor orașe de interes, cât
și activității profesionale a marilor arhitecți. De asemenea, programa
universitară este atinsă prin prezența unor titluri de carte, care conțin
subiecte privitoare la teoria arhitecturii și urbanismului, istoria arhitecturii
și urbanismului, construcții civile, artă, programe și proiecte de
arhitectură, design de interior, peisagistică etc.
În numărul de față al Buletinului Informativ, vă vom prezenta
lucrările din donația post-mortem arh. Bryan Avery, așa cum au fost
înregistrate în evidențele noastre de bibliotecă, în ordinea crescătoare a
cotărilor (format de cotă I BA), în număr de 171 de titluri de specialitate.
