The focus of our work is to develop sustainable and environmentally friendly fire protection coating products for the use in passive fire protection. Hensel Green Product Line presents those fire protection products which have qualified for eco-logical construction due to the low portion of volatile organic compounds (VOC) of less than 0.1 percent below the detection limit.

These products therefore meet the requirements under the “Principles for the health assessment of construction products used in interiors” (DIBt notices 10/2010) in conjunction with the LCI values given by the Committee on the health assessment of construction products (AgBB) and are thus also recommended for use in public buildings, which must meet the criteria of the assessment system, “Sustainable Construction for Federal Buildings”, set out by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Building and Urban Development..

Green Products meet the requirements of the LEED credit EQ C4.2. LEED stands for “Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design”. This label was created in 1998 by the U.S. Green Building Council and sets strict standards on the presented construction.

The emission certificates of our products according to ISO 16000 and the AgBB ra-ting scheme give architects and planners so called “credit points” for the assess-ment of the environmental standards of a building according to BREEAM and for the seal of approval awarded by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). Due to the French emission certificates according to DEVL1101903D and DEVL1104875A all of our Green Products are classified in the VOC-emission class A +.

Our fire protection coating systems HENSOTHERM® and HENSOMASTIK® are de-veloped and produced exclusively at our headquarters in Börnsen near Hamburg.The products offer intumescent or ablative acting coatings for the fire protection of steel, wood, concrete, cables, for penetration sealings and for fire protection joints. Hensel fire protection coating systems are approved according to DIN/EN and own further international certificates e.g. BS, VKF, UL, GOST.
