I. Goal of geotechnical monitoring:
Why we need monitoring ?
- Primery: monitoring of natural enviroment and constructed surroundings, before – under and after the
construction works
- Secondary: Changeing and modification of geotechnical parameters, interaction among soil/ rock
and stucture in time ( short term – long term design)
- Tertiary: back analysis, redising of data and design control
What can we measure and what does it worth to measure ?-- strain in the structure and layers;
-- stresess in the structure and layers;
-- pore pressure – total stress – effective stress
