Die Herkunft von Frottier ... ... oder womit alles begann. Noch vor 150 Jahren war Frottiergewebe in Europa völlig unbekannt. Seine Heimat ist der vordere Orient, von dort kam die Kunst des Schlaufenwebens über England und Frankreich nach Deutschland.Inzwischen hat Frottier im Haushalt, vor allem in Bad und Küche, einen festen Platz erobert und ist unent-behrlich geworden. Kurz gesagt: Frottier wird allen Anforderungen an modernste Gebrauchs- und Pflegeeigenschaften gerecht, ist einfach problemlos und praktisch.Durch neue Herstellungsverfahren und Techniken wurde im Laufe der Zeit die Palette immer größer. Das breite Angebot an Qualitäten, Strukturen, Farben, Dessins und Schmuckeffekten bietet dem Verbraucher eine riesige Auswahl.Mit dieser "kleinen" Warenkunde möchten wir Ihnen die einzelnen Varianten von Frottier und die Besonderheit von FEILER-Chenille näher bringen. Baumwolle & Partner für zeitgemäße FrottierwäscheFrottierartikel werden in erster Linie aus reiner Baumwolle gefertigt, in geringerem Umfang auch mit Leinengarnen oder saugfähigen Synthetikgarnen auf Baumwoll-Cellulosebasis.

Frottier und Frottee -... ist das dasselbe?Nein. Hinter den Begriffen verbergen sich zwei unter-schiedliche Herstellungsarten.Frottier wird auf Spezialwebmaschinen hergestellt: Die Schlingen entstehen beim Webvorgang und bilden regelmäßige Reihen. Dadurch erhält das Gewebe sein Volumen. Für Handtücher, Badetücher usw. wird fast ausschließlich Frottier verwendet.Bei Frottee wird ein Schlingengarn (Frotteezwirn) auf einem normalen Webstuhl verwebt. Das Gewebe hatwesentlich weniger Volumen als Frottier und findet für Massagetücher und andere Bereiche Verwendung. Daneben gibt es auch noch Frottier- und Frotteearten, die in Wirktechnik hergestellt werden.

Die einzelnen Frottier-Arten:Walkfrottier - ist sehr weich und flauschig, weil die Schlinge aus einem Garn besteht, das nur wenig Drehung aufweist. Seine Geschmeidigkeit und duftige Fülle wird nach dem Webprozess durch ein spezielles Waschverfahren erzielt.Kennzeichen: hohe Saugfähigkeit, weicher Griff, verwir-belte Schlingen.

Zwirnfrottier - die Schlinge besteht aus gezwirntem Garn. Es hat im Gegensatz zu Walkfrottier eine stärkere "Rubbelwirkung". Kennzeichen: strapazierfähig, fest und körnig im Griff.

Frottier Velour - ist ein Frottiergewebe, bei dem die Schlingen nach dem Webprozess auf der Oberseite aufgeschnitten werden. Das Garn öffnet sich und ergibt eine dichte, samtartige Oberfläche. Allerdings ist die Haltbarkeit dadurch nicht sehr hoch. Kennzeichen: samtartige Oberfläche, Schlingen auf der Rückseite.

Wirkfrottier - ist eine auf Wirkmaschinen hergestell-te Schlingenware und findet hauptsächlich Verwendung als Bettwäsche oder bei Sportbekleidung. Kennzeichen: geringeres Volumen und hohe Elastizität

FEILER-Chenille - ein einzigartiges Gewebe Die samtartigen Chenillewaren werden aus einem gewebten Spezialgarn hergestellt. Es besteht aus reiner Baumwolle. Vielfarbig gemusterte Chenillestoffe und -schmuckborten für Frottierartikel sind seit Firmengründung eine Spezialität des Hauses.Kennzeichen: Im Gegensatz zu Frottier-Velours gibt es keine Abseite, d. h. die samtartige Oberfläche, die außergewöhnlichen Dessin- und Farbeffekte sind auf beiden Seiten identisch. Echte Webchenille ist hochgra-dig florfest und weich im Griff. Die Zusammensetzung des Musters ist in den einzelnen "Raupen" deutlich zu erkennen. Dass dieses Gewebe nicht so einfach zu produzieren ist, zeigt Ihnen ein Querschnitt durch die Produktion. Lesen Sie mehr darüber auf der Rückseite. Einfache Deko-ChenilleÜbrigens gibt es auch noch einfachere und billigere Arten, ein Chenille-Garn herzustellen. Die Raupe ent-steht dabei nicht durch einen Webprozess, sondern durch Zwirnen oder Beflocken. Eine Musterung im Raupengarn ist damit nicht mehr möglich. Kennzeichen: flauschig aber geringe Haltbarkeit. Der Flor lässt sich leicht herausziehen. Verwendung für Dekostoffe, Mode-Artikel, Borten und Besätze häufig aus Synthetik-Garnen.

Warenkunde

Ein Diamant unter den Stoffen entsteht Bis zu 14 Arbeitsgänge sind notwendig, um dem Produkt seinen unverwechselbaren Charakter zu geben, der es zu etwas Besonderem macht. Einige davon zeigen wir Ihnen hier:

Aus den Baumwollgarnen entsteht im ersten Webprozess die Vorware für die späteren Dessins.

Die Vorware wird in einzelnen Streifen geschnitten. Es entsteht das sogenannte Bändchengarn.

Durch drehen des Bändchengarns entsteht das einzig-artig weiche Raupengarn Chenille.

Das fertige Raupengarn ist weich und flauschig.

Im zweiten Webprozess entsteht aus dem buntge-webten Raupengarn Chenille-Gewebe oder wie hier gezeigt eine Chenillebordüre, die mit Frottier kombi-niert wird.

In Feinarbeit werden die Flottfäden aus dem Gewebe herausgeschnitten.

Abschließend wird das Gewebe konfektioniert und geht zur Warenendkontrolle.

In short: terry cloth meets all requirements of modern use and cleaning properties. It simply can be called practical without any problems.By means of new production processes and techni-ques, the range of products has gained new dimensions of variety. A wide choice of qualities, structures, colours, designs and decorative effects is available for the end user.With the help of our "little” material guide, we would like to introduce and describe the individual variations of terry cloth and especially chenille the most exclusive bathroom textile. Cotton & Partners for Modern Terry Cloth TextilesTerry cloth products are mainly made of pure cotton, a smaller share is being made of linen or absorbant synthetic yarns based on cotton-cellulose mixtures.

FEILER-Chenille – a unique kind offabricThe velvet-like and soft chenille fabrics are made of woven caterpillar yarn, which consists of pure cotton. A specialty of FEILER since its foundation are multi-coloured, patterned chenille fabrics and decorative borders for terry cloth products.Characteristics: compared to terry velours there is no rear side, i.e. the velvety surface as well as the extra-ordinary designs and colour effects are identical on both sides. Genuine woven chenille possesses a highly resistant web and a soft touch. The individual "caterpillars" clearly show the composition of the pattern. A sectional view of the production of chenille shows that it is rather an elaborate process. For more details, please see also reverse side.

The Individual Types of Terry Cloth:Single yarn terry – is very soft and fluffy, because its loops are made of yarn that is only slightly twisted. Its softness and fluffy volume is being obtained by means of a special washing procedure subsequently to the weaving process. Special properties: high water absorp-tion, soft touch, entangled loops.

Twisted yarn terry - its loops are made of twisted yarn. Compared to single yarn terry its "rubbing effect" is much higher. Characteristics: wear-resistant, tight and grainy touch. Upright loops at the beginning, because there is no additional finishing process after the weaving.

Terry velours - a terry cloth fabric where the loops are being cut open after the weaving process. The yarn opens up and thus a tight and velvet-like surface is created. However, its durability is not very high. Characteristics: velvety surface, loops on rear side.

Knitted terry - a looped fabric produced on knitting machines, mainly used for bed linens and sports’ apparel. Characteristics: lower volume and high elasticity.

Common ChenilleBy the way, there are also simpler and less expensive ways of producing a chenille yarn. In that case, the caterpillar is not being created by a weaving process but by twisting or flock coating. However, a patternedchenille cannot be produced. Characteristics: fluffy but low durability. The pile is easily extractable. It is mainly used for decorative fabrics, fashion accessories (f.ex. scarfs) and trimmings, often made of synthetic fibres.

Specification of Textiles

Fabrication of a Textile Diamond Up to 14 different working steps are necessary to provide the product with its unique character, making it something very special - some of which are shown below:

During the first weaving process the cotton yarns are turned into a preliminary fabric for the future designs.

Cutting of the preliminary fabric into individual stripes. This is the so-called tape yarn.

By twisting the tape yarn, the uniquely soft chenille caterpillar yarn is being produced.

The finished caterpillar yarn. Its fluffiness is already optically present.

During the second weaving step, the colourful woven caterpillar yarn is turned into a chenille fabric or - as shown here - into a chenille border combined with terry cloth.

Precision work is carried out by cutting out the floa-ting threads of the fabric.

At the end, after the final manufacturing process, the item moves on to the final quality control.

Das Unternehmen heute

1948 wurde unser Unternehmen am jetzigen Standort Hohenberg in Oberfranken neu gegründet.Dabei wurde der Betrieb vom Start weg wieder auf die Produktion buntgewebter Chenillegewebe ausgerich-tet. Aus der kleinen, leistungsstarken Weberei wurde ein solides mittelständisches Familienunternehmen, das nun in der 3. Generation von den Geschwistern Dieter und Dagmar Schwedt geleitet wird. Dabei sind Arbeitsplatzsicherheit, fachliche Quali-fikation und die soziale Verantwortung für das Wohl

Der Ursprung

Den Grundstein unseres Unternehmens legte Ernst Feiler im Jahr 1928 im Sudetenland. Damals stellten 15 Heimweber gemusterte Chenillegewebe und hochwertige Frottierprodukte auf Holzwebstühlen her. Der Zweite Weltkrieg und dessen Folgen zerstörten jedoch die Arbeit der voran-gegangenen Generationen.

Modernste Spezialmaschinen, zum Teil mit selbstentwickelten Fertigungstechnologien harmonie-ren mit dem traditionellen, handwerklichen Können unserer Mitarbeiter. So entsteht in der Summe ein Produkt, das an Weichheit und edler Anmutung durch nichts zu übertreffen ist.
