    Firearms & Emergency Services Training

A firearms training class was held on April 11th, at the 167th AirliftWing Firing Range. In conjunction, Martinsburg Emergency Ser-vices Officer, Maj. Bart Rogers continued the ground team mem-ber training course. 15 cadets and 8 senior members participated.

    Adopt-A-Highway Program

I want to thank the 7 cadets, 4 senior mebers, and one parent/non-member whohelped with the Highway Clean-Up DetaiSaturday, May 2nd. These volunteerspicked up 23 bags of trash along PaynesFord Road, expending 30 man-hours on project.

Everyone who participated in this SpringClean-Up Project received an insulated berage cup from the Adopt-A-Highway of-fice. In addition, some members receive"cash bonus" for helping pick up litter be-cause we found a total of $70.10 along thhighway! One very lucky cadet found a $bill for his efforts. It sometimes pays to vunteer for these projects!

In any case, I want to thank everyone fortheir assistance. The clean-up on Saturdmarked the beginning of the squadron's year working on the Adopt-A-Highway pr

ject and brought our totals, since March1998,up to 991 bags of litter picked up ovthe years; which translates to 34,685 pouof trash, or 17.34 tons of garbage!

    GREAT JOB!
